BREAKING NEWS! South Carolina has a new underground damage prevention law. On June 7th, 2011 Governor Nikki Haley, signed into law the “South Carolina Underground Facility Damage Prevention Act”. PUPS is now South Carolina 811 Have you heard the news? Palmetto Utility Protection Service, Inc. has a new trademark name. The new trademark name is South Carolina 811. On October 30th, 2010 the South Carolina 811 Board of Directors voted to implement South Carolina 811 as the new trademark name for the South Carolina call center. In the year 2007, the FCC implemented “811” as the designated national telephone number for all Americans to call before starting any type of digging or excavation projects.
